Being a big country fan when I first had the opportunity to travel to Nashville to photograph a plantation home wedding, I was elated and of course excited to visit Music City. This is just part 1 of our amazing adventure. Lindsey and I arrived a few days before the wedding to explore and also to photograph some important details of Jessie and Dan’s wedding. On Wednesday we arrived later in the evening and once we checked into the hotel we decided to check out Broadway Street where their are tons of restaurants and bars that house live music. We had dinner at a fun modern spot called The Merchant. I loved that when you sat down they served you popcorn instead of say bread or rolls hehe. After we ate dinner we walked around Broadway and listened to a few performers play at Honky Tonk. Since we had a long day traveling we didn’t stay out late so we decided to head back to the hotel and get some rest. The next three days we spent in Franklin which is about 30 minutes outside of downtown Nashville and is an adorable little area. Thursday and Friday were spent partially exploring and “working”. On Thursday we explored Music Row and may or may not have stalked Big Machine Records on Music Row where Taylor Swift records her albums. I also may or may not have asked them if she was there and where my autographed CD jacket from Speak Now is bahahaha. Friday morning was well a dream come true, I had coffee with Jody with Zach and Jody Gray who are BRILLIANT photographers who live in Franklin. I know Jody is a busy girl with a new little one at home but I thought I would take a chance and see if she was available for coffee. It was great hearing how they got started, what brought them to Nashville and how her and Zach met! I love meeting other photographers and know I can say I have a photography friend in Tennessee. I was honored to photograph not only Jessie and Dan’s wedding but also Jessie’s bridals (not so popular back home!) and their rehearsal and dinner at a delicious steakhouse in Lewisburg. Jessie was sweet enough to invite us out to her bachelorette party which was an 80s themed bowling night. It was fun getting to know her and her bridesmaids better and definitely made the rest of the week even more awesome! Saturday came and went and Jessie’s and Dan’s wedding was AMAZING, I was nervous all week because of the thunderstorms in the forecast but then 30 minutes before the ceremony the clouds parted ways and we were able to enjoy the outdoor wedding Jessie had envisioned. This is only part one of our Nashville JDP Adventures. Be sure to check back next week for our fun filled last 2 days! These are a mix of iphone/instagram shots and some with my DSLR. Sometimes the best ones are the selfies 😉 XOXO
